New communication
The exhibition ‘E-com’ was developed by NorthernLight for NEMO Science Museum in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The exhibition is centred around the role of electricity in the development of communication technology. All modern communication methods, such as phone, fax and e-mail have been made possible by the discovery of the relation between electricity and magnetism. The interactive exhibition features interactive experiments, computer games and audiovisual presentations.
Meet Elektra
Elektra greets visitors at the beginning of the exhibition. Standing almost 4 meters tall, Elektra is the largest cyborg that was produced in Europe. Within the exhibition, visitors will be able to communicate with each other through 3D-projections in the Face-to-Face exhibit. Another key feature of the exhibition is the multi-screen surround projection. The screen shows images of ‘avatars’ that the visitors create themselves as well as an inspring movie about communication as a basic human need.
